If you own an agricultural barn there are 2 possible ways of converting it into your dream home.
Firstly available is CLASS Q Permitted Development where you could convert an agricultural building into up to 5 dwellings.
There are several restraints set in place which need to be considered when assessing the suitability of the barn for Class Q Conversion.
• The existing structure
• The external walls
• The floor area of up to 456 sq. m
• The existing or last use must be agricultural
JMAD Architecture have extensive knowledge and experience dealing with these challenging applications. We can guide you through the process from initial feasibility, design, planning and building regulations.
The second option is to go for FULL PLANNING; for example, barns of architectural or historic merit which are not in agricultural use or that require additional works outside the scope of class Q.
